Have you been saving Box Tops For Education?

Parkway High 5 is again collecting “Box Tops for Education”. We receive $.10 for every Box Top we collect. These dimes add up quick. Last year you helped earn $1351.31 for Parkway Elementary Students. This week students had the opportunity to have COSI on Wheels at Parkway. Every year High 5 uses the Box Top money to pay for this great science learning event for our kids.

We will have classroom competitions for collecting Box Tops the first week of October, December, February, and April. The class that turns in the most Box Tops will receive a treat. Our first Box Top collection is the week of October 1 – 5th, so keep clipping! See the complete list of products here or check out the Box Tops for Education website.

August 2012 High 5 Meeting

The first Parkway Elementary High 5 meeting will be held tonight at 6:30 in the community room at the school. We will be selecting committees and setting our calendar of events for the year.

Parkway parents, teachers, school staff, grandparents, and community members -people who care about our kids and our school – are all invited to attend. You don’t have to make a yearlong commitment to volunteer with High 5. Help us choose the worthwhile projects High 5 will sponsor this year and decide if you are interested in helping with any of our committees.

Hope to see you there!

Educational games at Funbrain.com

If you are looking for some fun and educational games for your kids to play, you might want to check out funbrain.com. You can choose games by grade or type. They have math, reading, arcade, and classic games.

Some of the games are math baseball, fresh-baked fractions, spell-a-roo, grammar gorillas, and connect the dots just to name a few. There is also a section on web books and comics. It looks like a fun site with lots of cute little games for your kids in grades k – 8.

Parents might like the parent – kid challenges.  There is also an area for teachers. Teachers can use the curriculum guide, the flash cards and the game finder.
